The conference is organized by a committee that includes representatives from the Department of Criminal Justice Sciences, the Department of Agriculture, the Mennonite School of Nursing, and Project X at Illinois State University. The committee also includes members a variety of government and state organizations, including GROWMARK, the Illinois Farm Bureau, Prevent Child Abuse Illinois, Chestnut Health Systems, and the Illinois Fertilizer & Chemical Association. The focus of the conference is on health and safety issues regarding methamphetamine, legal initiatives to respond to the problem, and the current state of treatment for methamphetamine abuse.
