ISDT AUDITIONS
Fall 2008

Dancers are selected for the company for the entire year during our Fall auditions.   ISDT is auditioning current company and apprentice members for faculty fall 2008 works at this time. 

Selection is based upon experience and potential primarily.  We are not limited by number.  It is expected that your commitment to ISDT is for both the Fall and Spring semester.   ISDT will not audition for additional dancers in the Spring yet dancers may be invited to join the company throughout the year at the discretion of the ISDT Artistic Director, Laurie Merriman, in consultation with the I.S.U. dance faculty.

We are going to be VERY strict about attendance at company class for ISDT this semester...please make certain you not only enroll in a dance technique class 2x a week at the least but that you are also able to attend co. class from 10:30-noon on Fridays.

The Fall ISDT Concert will be held in the lovely Center for the Performing Arts Theatre.  Four dance faculty will set work on the company for the Fall Concert including Laurie Merriman, Greg Merriman, Sara Semonis and Pam Walden.  Glenn Block will conduct the live Orchestra Ensemble playing live for each work produced in this fall concert.  We are very excited about this collaborative venture!

We have a very full semester ahead of us.  Our fund raising efforts must continue to enable the Company to fund ACDFA, host guest artists to campus, and perhaps allow ISDT to tour and perform in other venues.   ISDT has always had the ability to fundraise.  I will look to the leadership of Dance Association to meet with me SOON to brainstorm ideas! 

We look forward to continuing to develop the talent we have enjoyed in recent years.  We look forward to seeing you all!  The studio will be available for dancers to warm-up as early as 6:00pm.   Please be prepared to audition in soft ballet shoes, pointe shoes, and jazz shoes...of course, have your bare feet available!!  Thank you for your interest and fine work!
