Tortoise Section of

choreographed by Laurie Merriman, Fall 2007 ISDT Concert held
at the Center for the Performing Arts Theatre.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Laurie Merriman and I hold a Masters of Fine Arts degree in Dance Performance and Choreography from the University of Illinois in Urbana and a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Ballet and Modern Dance from Texas Christian University. I have been practicing my craft at Illinois State University since 1988 while also continuously working independently outside of academia.
While it seems I live at the University, I actually live out in the country here in Illinois with my husband, Greg. We have three children. Graham~now 27 years old, lives and works out of state, Kaetlin~now 21 years old, is an Animal Science student at the University of Illinois in Urbana, and Emma~now 8 years old, is our feisty Third Grader at Metcalf Laboratory School.
This site contains information
related to the courses I teach and my research related materials as a creative
artist. I hope you find this site interesting and useful...enjoy!
Thank you for visiting my homepage.

the steps."

money; love like you've never been hurt;
dance like nobody's watching."
