Merry Christmas

Holiday greetings from Annette & Andrew
December 2007

I thought that since I'm the website girl at work, maybe I should take a stab at an e-greeting for this year in lieu of Christmas cards.  So -- please make sure to check out the links on the right for some added features.

I'm excited to say that 2007 was a surgery free year for Annette.  (First time in 5 years!) Andrew just turned 4 on December 1.  We celebrated with a Star Wars cake while enjoying Thanksgiving in Minnesota at my brother's.  Andrew has had a busy year.  He is officially potty trained, took swimming lessons, is learning to write his letters, and still loves dancing and singing.

Work has been very busy this year for me.  The alumni office took over the responsibilities for Homecoming and has been producing more events than ever with over 15,000 people attending.  I've been receiving recognition for her work in cultivating virtual relationships via online communities (MySpace and Facebook).  I spoke at some conferences on this topic in May and December and will be presenting a webinar in March 2008.

We have traveled a bit this year.  We went to Nashville, TN in May to stay with a good friend of Annette's from college.  We enjoyed our visits to the Nashville Zoo, a children's museum, and a stop in Metropolis, IL to see the Superman statue on the way home.  We stayed with my parents in August to participate in Hillsboro's Old Settler's Celebration and my 15-year class reunion.  In September, we met up with immediate family at Wisconsin Dells for a weekend.  We were able to celebrate my nephew's 1st birthday.  In November, we went to Duluth, MN to enjoy Thanksgiving with my brother and his family and help them move into their new home.  I also traveled to Minneapolis with friends in August, Kansas for work in August, and started the year in Nashville for New Year's Eve.

I has kept busy volunteering for church by planning a few events and hosting some socials.   I have also had the opportunity to help out our local Jaycees organization.

We end the year thankful for many blessings, opportunities and loved ones.  Here's to a great 2008!

Merry Christmas and have a great New Year!
