• Presently, Facilities Planning is located at the corner of Main Street and Osage Street. It has 1,672 net assignable square feet.

Planning  Design  Construction

1. Action Step 01:  Initiate the planning process for a new building that consolidates the various programs of Facilities Services from their six locations into a single site.

2. Action Step 02:  Prepare an estimate of the costs associated with proceeding through preliminary design phases of planning for a new structure(s) and remodeling existing buildings.

3. Action Step 03:  Identify a source of funding to cover the identified preliminary planning expenditures.

4. Action Step 04:  Advertise for an architect for preliminary design. The architect would assist in preparation of the statement of program needs, identification of spaces and their size, development of a site plan on the west edge of Sugar Creek, and development of cost estimates.

5. Action Step 05:  Prepare a Capital Budget Spreadsheet for Facilities Services Improvement that includes all anticipated expenditures, such as costs of moving, demolition, site preparation, construction and equipment.

6. Action Step 06:  Develop a flow chart identifying the sequence of actions required in order to demolish the current Facilities Planning structure.

7. Action Step 07:  Present the designs and recommendations prepared by the architect for Facilities Services Improvements to the Capital Planning and Budget Team.

8. Action Step 08:  Share designs and recommendations with the Vice President for Finance and Planning.

9. Action Step 09:  Get approval for the project.

10. Action Step 10:  Advertise for and select architectural consultants for design of project.

11. Action Step 11:  Begin design.

12. Action Step 12:  Complete schematic design (25%).

13. Action Step 13:  Complete design development (50%).

14. Action Step 14:  Complete construction documents (75%).

15. Action Step 15:  Bid the project.

16. Action Step 16:  Award the project.

17. Action Step 17:  Mobilize and begin construction.

18. Action Step 18:  Track construction through web site updates.

19. Action Step 19:  Complete construction.

20. Action Step 20:  Move in.
