Complete the Center for the Performing Arts.
 

Baseline Information
  • When completed for the 2002 inaugural season, the new Center for the Performing Arts will include a concert hall with 830 seats and a proscenium theatre with 460 seats. The addition of a complementary facility and the consolidation of academic programs will enhance programming in the College of Fine Arts.

Action Steps

Progress will be measured based upon the completion of the following action steps.

  1. Action Step 01:  Building contractors complete their construction work.

  2. Action Step 02:  University takes ownership and possession of the building.

  3. Action Step 03:  Finalize specifications of rigging system, lighting controls and acoustical upgrades.

  4. Action Step 04:  Take delivery and install seats in Theater and Concert Hall.

  5. Action Step 05:  Bid up to $1.8 million in equipment items. Additional equipment will be ordered if additional funding becomes available.

  6. Action Step 06:  Install counters, shelving, cabinets and other built-ins.

  7. Action Step 07:  Fabricate rigging and install lighting and sound systems.

  8. Action Step 08:  Schedule shake down rehearsals for both performance spaces.

  9. Action Step 09:  Complete fit up of the building.

  10. Action Step 10:  Building open for university use. (Fall Semester 02)

  11. Action Step 11:  Hold building dedication and grand opening performances in both spaces.
