Developing a Team Approach to Grant Preparation
Successful grant preparation is more often a cooperative effort between
many individuals than an individual writing project. Government
agencies and private foundations are urging more cooperation,
collaboration, and consensus between several organizations as
a funding prerequisite. The rationale for urging cooperation
between many organizations by these agencies is that these programs
will be disseminated and shared throughout the community.
How does this trend from funding agencies asking for
cooperative ventures affect Illinois State University (ISU)?
In order to compete for funding from the private or government
sector, faculty and staff at Illinois State University will
need to continue to develop a team-based approach. This will
entail developing cross-disciplinary teams within the University
and finding other organizations to collaborate with in searching
for funding. |

staff at Illinois State University in working on multi-disciplinary
