All walks will begin in the Sassafrass Grove seating area just west of Hovey Hall on the ISU Quad. All of the tree walks are guided by Illinois State University's Biological Sciences' horticulturalist Don “The Dean of Green” Schmidt.
During these walks, you will be able to see tree parts overlooked by the untrained eye. You might see the male and female flowers of oak trees, smell the oil of winter green in birch bark, find rubber growing in trees and see the oldest tree in Normal.

The plant sale will be held in the parking lot behind the Science Lab Building Greenhouse on the Corner of North Street and Fell Avenue.
The plant sale is the Arboretum's biggest and most exciting event. There will be many unique plants for sale that are not available at the average garden center!
This sale is the only place you will find native prarie plants, woodland wildflowers, the newest varieties of annuals, old heirloom tomatoes and some wonderfully odd trees.
All proceeds from the plant sales are used to support the Fell Arboretum. Thanks for your previous support. Last year, the plant sale generated nearly $3,000 for the Fell Atboretum, so come out, buy some plants and help a great cause!
