Final Exam Study GuideThe Final Exam is scheduled for Tuesday, May 5 at 7:50 a.m. in our regular classroom and is worth 20 percent of the course grade. The exam will cover all readings, lectures, films, discussions, etc., covering the era of Mexican Independence to the present. We will have a review session for the exam on the last day of class (Friday, May 1). Please make use of the Netforum class discussion group to discuss material you do not understand. If you have any questions about the exam, please feel free to contact me at mbecker@ilstu.edu. There are 2 parts to the exam: Part I: Essay (40 percent of exam grade). You will write an essay on this question in class. No notes or outlines will be allowed. In his book México Profundo, Guillermo Bonfil Batalla states that "the relations between the México profundo and the imaginary Mexico have been conflictive during the five centuries of their confrontation" (xvi). Drawing on Bonfil and other insights you have gained in this class, discuss the possibilities of resolving this conflict. Part II: Identification (60 percent of exam grade). I will give you twelve terms from the list below. You will have to identify and give the historical significance of six of these (10 points for each term).
