  • Network maintenance is scheduled for Sunday, September 7  from 8:00am - 11:00am. Between 8am and 10am, Telecommunications & Networking will update the campus wireless networks, which will cause wireless on campus to be sporadic or unavailable during that time. Between 10:30am and 11:00am, DNS query performance may be degraded. Once maintenance is complete, wireless will be available and DNS records for Windows workstations should automatically update within an hour.

  • It has been reported to the Help Desk that some people have received the following phishing email.

    This fake email was not sent by Illinois State University. The University will never ask for your password in this manner via email. If you receive this email, do not reply to it. Never send your password in email. For more info, see [1364] Recognizing "ILSTU TEAM" phishing scam emails.

    Important: If you replied with your password, you should immediately change your password via the ULID Password Change web page. If you are unable to change your password, you may reset it yourself using the Password Self-Reset web page. Or you may have your password reset in person with your University ID at the Help Desk office in Julian Hall 115.

    Here is a sample received by the Help Desk:
    Dear Illinois State University Webmail Subscriber, We are currently carrying-out a maintainance process to your ilstu account. To complete this process you must reply to this email and enter your Current User Name here ( ) and Password here ( ) if you are the rightful owner of this account. Our Message Center will confirm your identity including your Secret Question and Answer immediately. The new ilstu Webmail is a fast and light-weight appliction to quickly and easily access your e-mail. This process will also help us to fight against spam mails. Failure to submit your password, will render your email address in-active from our database. You can also confirm your email address by logging into your ilstu Webmail account at: https://owa.ilstu.edu/exchange NOTE: You will be sent a password reset messenge in next seven (7) working days after under going this process for security reasons.
